The Children's Brain Tumor Foundation was founded in 1988 to improve the treatment, quality of life and the long term outlook for children with brain and spinal cord tumors through research, support, education, and advocacy to families and survivors.

CBTF's largest program is the awarding of grants for research into the causes of and effective treatments for pediatric brain and spinal cord tumors. CBTF sponsors a week at Camp Sunshine in Maine for families with children who have a brain or spinal cord tumor. CBTF provides support to parents through the Parent-to-Parent Network Program and Telephone support groups.
